This subversive deconstruction of a genre is just what everyone needs right now though the gore and all the brutal imagery can be a little too much to handle. That’s why it’s not surprising that the fandom came up with a way to cope and make the show lighter – with memes! Some of these memes are even deconstructions of a deconstruction of superheroes, all in good fun until the next season drowns us all in pain once again.
10 Invincible Has Massive Meme Potential
Since the whole show is brimming with meme material, almost every punchline or scene ending can be turned into a meme. Like this Omni-Man sentiment here after seeing the replacement for the show’s equivalent of the Justice League.
Omni-Man’s Social Darwinist nature and xenophobia are well-represented in this meme as it juxtaposes how elitist the meme culture can be at times. Omni-Man himself being a condescending superbeing, thinks everyone on Earth is beneath him, often spouting out perfect rallying calls for creators of intellectually complex cultural references.
9 He’ll Be Fine
One of the show’s most persistent running jokes is how Invincible is a little too confident and optimistic with his name. In reality, he usually ends up getting beaten to an inch of his life by villains that Omni-Man would have considered mere ants in the grand scheme of things.

To make matters worse, Invincible doesn’t look too fabulous when getting his head bashed in, unlike most superheroes in mainstream media. That goes to show just how much the show doesn’t want to adhere to wishful and optimistic mainstream standards. Still, Invincible’s lucky people don’t take pictures of his rather derpy half-dead image.
8 Me, Myself, And I
Speaking of running jokes, one or two of the enemies in the series steal the scenes they’re in thanks to their dynamics. That would be the Mauler Twins, both of whom think they’re still the original versions of themselves and the other one is a blatant clone or copy.
Hence, this brilliant and witty twisting of a captcha website security that we all hate because of how intrusive and tedious it is. The Mauler Twins are actually a lot funnier and more delightful on-screen compared to a captcha, despite them being villains. Seeing these two narcissists bicker with each other somehow makes them worthy of their own show.
7 Anything For My Planet
Lovely crossover we have here courtesy of people who can tolerate abysmal films, one of which is The Room. The fact that Invincible’s human name is Mark provides an opportune moment for anyone still fixated on The Room and its quotable dialogues.

Truth be told, Tommy Wiseau isn’t that far off from someone like Omni-Man, minus the superpowers. Both of them are antisocial weird sentient beings who inadvertently turn a Mark’s existence into living hell. Still, the Mark from Invincible got off easy since getting beaten up by your dad is less humiliating than being forced into a bad film.
6 Stage Father Of The Year, Everyone
The tragedy in Omni-Man and Invincible’s relationship is that Omni-Man sometimes doesn’t care about his son and is fighting against his better nature to remain a Viltrumite and left the weak perish. That’s probably why he didn’t come to Mark’s aid when a space lion with a mace turned Mark’s guts into mincemeat.
All he did was literally watch from above as his son gets bullied by an arrogant space Animorph who he’d probably crush to a pulp if it challenged him. Perhaps the only way to make Omni-Man care for Mark is when he himself is doing the beating and the killing; that certainly brought out his daddy instincts better.
5 Something– Something, Lion, Sheep, Opinions, Right?
Then there’s that peculiar but rather awesome lion thingy that almost killed Mark. His named is Thokk, the Battle Beast and he’s like Marvel’s Thor except addicted to battle like a junkie and is more prideful and sociopathic.

How the heck did a mere Earth mafia manage to get Battle Beast’s service? Well apparently, Battle Beast only accepts payments in battle, as in good, fun battles. So the moment he saw that Invincible and the Guardians of the Globe members were pushovers, he bailed as he knew he wasn’t getting the promised payment.
4 There’s More Where That Came From
While it’s true that the series somehow managed to add to the comic books’ gore, it still has a long way to go before it catches up to the comic book’s notoriety. If the Invincible series was dark, then the comic book is the abyss. It’s unforgiving, irreverent, and at times, traumatizing.
Invincible getting disowned and beaten to near-death by his dad isn’t even the worst thing another Viltrumite did to the poor teenager. No, if the series wants to faithfully follow the comic books, then the viewers are in for a taboo-breaking controversial scene.
3 That’s One Way To “Train” Him
Just how much violence did the series make up in order to differentiate itself from the comic books? The most notable addition is that haunting train scene where a rogue and crazed Omni-Man stopped a train packed with commuters using Invincible’s face.

It was a front-row seat to television carnage that would have made Game of Thrones look like a cartoon, ironically. Even comic book readers were absolutely perturbed with this scene as it was unexpected and yes, too bloody and cruel. At that moment, the show dethroned established superhero deconstruction shows like The Boys.
2 You Serious?!
Gotta give credit to Invincible though, even though he isn’t physically “invincible,” his mental fortitude is likely his greatest asset as it’s unwavering and unshakeable. Even Omni-Man was struggling to mentally break his own son despite trying to give him several generations-worth of depression.
The cherry on top is J.J. Abrams voicing Omni-Man, trying to be as condescending as possible. Omni-Man could have laughed like J. Jonah Jameson (one of Abrams’s characters) and it would still be fitting since that’s pretty much how he views Invincible’s sentiments towards human beings. That’s why J.J. Abrams is just perfect for the role.
1 I Want Omni-Maaaan!!!
No, this isn’t the fandom being too optimistic at Invincible, it’s actually news. The series is coming back to get our psychological health for two more sure seasons. That means there’s plenty more room for bloody beatings, flying intestines, and a biblical disregard for puny human life.
J. Jonah Jameson is just here being the harbinger of good news in the form of a meme. Funny enough, the actual scene from where the meme came from was Jameson suggesting an unethical headline. Thankfully, that’s not the case, we’re getting more Invincible, namely seasons 2 and 3!
