“Wait a minute… that’s INVINCIBLE TITLE THEME BLARES ON SPEAKERS,” reads the caption for the Instagram teaser. The video itself starts with Yeun saying, “Can’t wait to make more-” before Invincible’s title card appears on-screen with its soundtrack playing in the background. Yeun appears to not be on the same page as the production crew, as after the title card disappears he orders, “Cut me off there, or leave that, or leave this. Or leave this whole thing in there. Do this whole part, and then cut me off now! Now!… Now,” before ultimately getting crickets as the teaser ends.

Evidently, this teaser does not reveal a lot, like most teasers. However, what it did reveal is that the show will probably continue its tradition of cutting off characters who are about to say the name of the show before the show itself displays its title card. Considering that’s one of the most clever twists we’ve seen a show do when it introduces its title, it’s probably in their best interest not to fix what isn’t broken. Although it remains to be seen if they will include the pattern of adding more and more blood spatter to the title card as the season goes on.

No matter what direction they go in, one thing is for sure. The fans are absolutely ready for Invincible’s next chapter to begin. The brutally refreshing material this show brought to the superhero genre is what inspired fans to tune in every week. Unlike those family-friendly Marvel movies or even those dark DC movies, Invincible does not pull any punches with its audience when it comes to applying real-world consequences of being a superhero. And what’s even more exciting is that the show promised in its first season that what happened then was only the tip of the iceberg.
